Guillermo del Toro a fost invitat la o emisiune radio a lui Simon Mayo, de pe BBC (prin TheOneRing.net) unde a vorbit despre The Hobbit si a confirmat intoarcerea a trei actori care au aparut si in trilogia The Lord of the Rings – Ian McKellen in rolul lui Gandalf, Hugo Weaving in cel al lui Elrond si Andy Serkis va fi iarasi Gollum.
Guillermo mai spune, in interviu, despre cateva elemente din The Hobbit.
“There is a whole other chapter, so to speak, which is the comings and going of Gandalf which are dealt with — people that know the lore know that Gandalf was delayed with a crisis… with a character that is very shady called the Necromancer that proves to be Sauron.”
