In Agora evolueaza Rachel Weisz in rolul Hypatia of Alexandria si sclavul ei, Davus, interpretat de Max Minghella.

Povestea este despre Davus care se alatura crestinismului cu speranta de libertate dar se indragosteste de stapana sa, faimoasa profesoara de filozofie si necredincioasa Hypatia.

Agora este regizat de catre Alejandro Amenábar, care a mai regizat si Open Your Eyes, Butterfly Tongues, The Others, si The Sea Inside.

Scenariul este scris de Amenábar si Mateo Gil cu care a colaborat si pentru Open Your Eyes, Vanilla Sky, si The Sea Inside.

Focus Features pregateste sa lanseze filmul in cinematografe din 18 decembrie anul curent.

SlashFilm publish the first trailer for The Sea Inside director Alejandro Amenábar’s Roman Egypt set historical drama Agora has hit the web early today. Agora stars Rachel Weisz as Hypatia of Alexandria and Max Minghella as her slave named Davus. The story follows Davus who turns to the rising tide of Christianity in the hopes of pursuing freedom while also falling in love with his master, the famous female philosophy professor and atheist Hypatia.

Agora is directed by Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Amenábar, of Open Your Eyes, Butterfly Tongues, The Others, and The Sea Inside previously. The screenplay was co-written by Amenábar and his writing partner Mateo Gil of Open Your Eyes, Vanilla Sky, and The Sea Inside previously. The production shot for 15 weeks in Malta and wrapped last June.

Focus Features has tentatively set a December 18th release date this year.
