THR ne spune ca regizorul Jan de Bont (Speed, Twister) va regiza filmul de actiune Mulan, a carei poveste este despre o tanara luptatoare numita pe nume Hua Mulan care se inroleaza intr-o armata de barbati. Rolul principal il va detine starul, din China, Zhang Ziyi.
Scenaristul va fi John Blickstead, care este la prima s-a tentativa de a scrie un scenariu, iar filmarile vor incepe in aceasta toamna langa Shanghai, urmand ca acestea sa aiba loc in locatii diferite, in functie de timpul actiunii din film, cea mai “tanara” perioada fiind cu sute de ani in urma in timpul dinastiei Northern Wei.
Povestea este una din cele mai faimoase din China si este despre inegalitatea dintre femei si barbati, aceasta avand un impact asupra culturii, in timp.

THR reports director Jan de Bont (Speed, Twister) will direct an English-language live-action telling of Mulan, the story about the young female warrior named Hua Mulan who joins an all-male army and the chinese superstar Zhang Ziyi will portray the title heroine.
The writer is John Blickstead, who hasn’t written anything previously, and the film is set to start shooting this fall near Shanghai, but it’s not clear as to what time period the story will take place. Since the story has been passed down through hundreds of years, it has taken place in several different time periods, the earliest of which being during the Northern Wei dynasty. The story is one of China’s most famous and was one of the first to question gender inequality, thus striking an important chord in the progression of their culture.
