Odata ce The Hobbit a primit toate drepturile, la data de 15 octombrie, a intrat direct in post-productie. Pregatit de a fi lansat in luna decembrie 2012 respectiv decembrie 2013 putem confirma ca Martin Freeman (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Hot Fuzz) va interpreta rolul lui Bilbo Baggins, eroul povestii. Richard Armitage (serialul englezesc “MI-5” si in curand Captain America: The First Avenger) va juca in rolul lui Thorin Oakenshield, liderul Company of Dwarves pregatiti sa-si apere Lonely Mountain de catre un dragon hot.
Din Company of Dwarves fac parte Aidan Turner si Rob Kazinsky in rolurile Kili si Fili iar celalate roluri mai sunt Graham McTavish – Dwalin, John Callen – Oin, Stephen Hunter- Bombur, Mark Hadlow – Dori, Peter Hambleton – Gloin.
Cele doua filme “The Hobbit” sunt in post-productie la New Line Cinema si MGM; managementul de productie e asigurat de New Line, iar Warner Bros Pictures se ocupa de distributia interna si MGM de cea internationala. Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh si Carolynne Cunningham sunt producatorii iar Phillipa Boyens este co-producator alaturi de producatorul executiv Ken Kamins.

Elijah Wood se va intoarce in rolul lui Frodo in filmele lui Peter Jackson, The Hobbit alaturi de Andy Serkis si Ian McKellen in rolurile lui Gollum si Gandalf. Alaturi de Serkis, Deadline mai precizeaza ca si Christopher Lee (Saruman) si Ian Holm (batranul Bilbo Baggins) sunt in discutii sa apara in acest film de doua parti. THR ne-a oferit stirea despre intoarcerea lui McKellen si mai precizeaza ca ia fost inmanata o oferta si lui Orlando Bloom pentru a se intoarce in rolul lui Legolas dar nu se cunosc detalii.
Martin Freeman va interpreta rolul tanarului Bilbo Baggins iar actorii Cate Blanchett si Hugo Weaving au confirmat ca vor fi si ei prezenti in pelicula.

Since The Hobbit films received a green light on October 15, pre-production has been in full swing. Set for release in December, 2012 and December, 2013, we can confirm that Martin Freeman (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Hot Fuzz) will play Bilbo Baggins, the hero of the story. Richard Armitage (UK TV’s “MI-5” and soon to appear in Captain America: The First Avenger) is set to play Thorin Oakenshield, the leader of the Company of Dwarves which sets off to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from a thieving dragon.
The two “The Hobbit” films are being co-produced by New Line Cinema and MGM, with New Line managing production, Warner Bros Pictures handling domestic distribution and MGM distributing internationally. Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Carolynne Cunningham are producing the films, with Phillipa Boyens serving as co-producer and Ken Kamins as executive producer.

Elijah Wood will be reprising his role as Frodo in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit movies, Andy Serkis and Ian McKellen are now set to reprise their roles of Gollum and Gandalf the Wizard, respectively, from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. In addition to the casting of Serkis, Deadline reports that Christopher Lee (Saruman) and Ian Holm (old Bilbo Baggins) are also in talks to return to Middle Earth once again. THR broke the news of McKellen’s return, and reports that the offer for Orlando Bloom to return as Legolas is still out, but it’s not yet known if a deal can be made before the film starts shooting.
