Essential Entertainment si Lion Rock Productions au anuntat ca vor face un remake la filmu lui John Woo din 1989, The Killer ce va fi in limba engleza si filmat in 3D.
Regizorul va fi John H. Lee (Oneday, Saying Good-bye) iar producatorul Woo. Jung Woo Sung (Reign of Assassins, The Good, the Bad and the Weird) va avea rolul principal.
La fel ca in filmul original, The Killer va fi povestea unui asasin de origine asiatica care va risca totul pentru a proteja o frumoasa cantareata de care se indragosteste.

spune Woo despre proiect,
“‘The Killer’ is truly one of my favorites. We are thrilled to reinvent it as an English-language film and know it’s in capable hands by the incredible visual style and tender emotion John H. Lee brings to all his films.”

Essential Entertainment and Lion Rock Productions announced today that they’re teaming to remake John Woo’s 1989 film The Killer in both English and in 3D.
Director John H. Lee (Oneday, Saying Good-bye) will helm the project with Woo producing. Jung Woo Sung (Reign of Assassins, The Good, the Bad and the Weird) is slated to star.
Just as in the original, The Killer will tell the story of an elite Asian assassin who risks everything to protect a beautiful singer that he unintentionally blinded.

says Woo of the project,

The film will enter production soon with a script from Josh Campbell.
