HollywoodinHidef au aflat dintr-o sursa ca varianta 3D Blu-ray a filmului Avatar va fi lansata pe 1 decembrie, si va fi exclusiv pentru cei ce cumpara Televizoare 3D de la Panasonic si playere Blu-ray. Iar Blu-ray 3D cu filmul lui Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland numai daca se va cumpara produse 3D de la Sony.
In Februarie, regizorul filmului Avatar, James Cameron, a declarat pentru Wall Street Journal ca varianta 3D Blu-ray a filmului va sosi in noiembrie, imediat dupa aceasta afirmatie 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment a declarat:
“3D is in the conceptual stage and Avatar will not be out on 3D Blu-ray in November”.
Varianta normala (2D) Collector’s Edition Blu-ray a filmului Avatar va fi lansata in luna noiembrie (declarat oficial).

HollywoodinHidef has it from a “well-placed source” that a 3D Blu-ray release of Avatar will be released on December 1, but it will be exclusively available with the purchase of Panasonic 3D TVs and Blu-ray players. In turn, a 3D BD of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland will be bundled with Sony 3D hardware.
In February, Avatar director James Cameron had said to the Wall Street Journal that a 3D Blu-ray of the movie would come out in November. That was promptly denied by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment with a note that said verbatim:
“3D is in the conceptual stage and Avatar will not be out on 3D Blu-ray in November”.
The exclusivity period hasn’t been specified for either title, but is said to be “unusually long” for Avatar.
The (2D) Collector’s Edition Blu-ray of Avatar will be released in November.
