Section 8 – Luc Besson

Variety precizeaza ca EuropaCorp este in stadiul de pre-productie a filmului Section 8, un film de actiune-SF filmat in 3D.

Stephen St. Leger si James Mather vor fi regizorii iar scenariul va fi scris tot de ei impreuna cu detinatorul casei de productie EuropaCorp, Luc Besson care-l va si produce.

Actiunea filmului Section 8 are loc la peste 80 de kilometri pe orbita pamantului, intr-o puscarie, in care sunt tinuti intr-un fel de criostaza prin niste metode sofisticate,  500 dintre cei mai periculosi prizonieri… cel putin pana in momentul cand ei sunt treziti… accidental.

Filmarile vor incepe in primavara-vara iar bugetul alocat este de peste 30 de milioane de dolari.

EuropaCorp mai produce un film numit Brick Mansion, ce va fi un remake dupa filmul de actiune-thriller al lui Pierre Morel, District 13.

Variety reports that EuropaCorp is in pre-production on its next big English-language project, the 3D sci-fi action film Section 8.

Ireland’s Stephen St. Leger and James Mather are attached to direct from a screenplay by St. Leger, Mather and EuropaCorp owner Luc Besson, who will also produce.

Section 8 takes place in a prison orbiting 50 miles above the earth. The prison houses 500 of the world’s most dangerous prisoners, who are kept asleep by sophisticated techniques until they suddenly awaken.

The film, which starts shooting late spring/early summer, is budgeted at more than $30 million.

EuropaCorp is also focusing on Brick Mansion, the U.S. English-language remake of Pierre Morel’s action-thriller District 13.
