Deadline spune ca actritele nominalizate la Oscar, Julia Roberts si Meryl Streep vor fi colege intr-o adaptare dupa cartea, castigatoare a unui premiu Pulizer si Tony, a lui Tracy Letts, August: Osage County.
Letts a mai scris si scenariul filmului iar John Wells (The Company Men) il va regiza.
Povestea incepe cand parintele clanului Weston dispare, intr-o noapte fierbinte de vara iar familia se reuneste la Oklahoma unde multe secrete ies la iveala.
Streep va interpreta rolul lui Violet, un matriarh dependent de droguri din clasa muncitoare a clanului Weston in timp ce Roberts va juca in rolul Barbara Fordham, cea mai in varsta fiica din familie. Problemele lui Violet de dependenta face sa scape secrete ale familiei iar Barbara se confrunta cu problemele barbatului ei incornorat, ce o insala cu o studenta. Ele formeaza o echipa, atunci cand barbatul lui Violet este dat disparut iar cele trei fiice ale lor se intorc acasa sa fie alaturi de ele. Multe secrete ies la iveala ca rezultat a intalnirii acestora.

Deadline reports Academy Award nominated actresses Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are coming together to star in an adaptation of Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County, the Pulitzer Prize winning book and Tony award-winning play. Letts also wrote the screenplay for John Wells (The Company Men) to direct. The story takes off when the father of the Weston clan disappears one hot summer night, and the family reunites at the Oklahoma homestead, where long-held secrets are unflinchingly and uproariously revealed.
Streep will play Violet, the drug-addicted matriarch of the working class Weston clan while Roberts will play Barbara Fordham, the oldest daughter in the family. Violet’s problems and her penchant for revealing family secrets is a big issue, but Barbara is melting because her husband is cheating on her with a college student. They are brought together when Violet’s husband goes missing and all three of their daughters come home to rally around mom. In the process, a lot of family secrets get revealed.
