Quantum of Solace has been pushed back a week, set to open on November 14, two weeks before the big holiday and plenty early enough for it to be possible to buy tickets when I come home for Thanksgiving. Sony admits they’re basically just capitalizing on the fact that Harry Potter recently left that date in favor of a release next summer, but even their remaining competition is no competition at all. There’s Australia, the Baz Luhrmann epic that looks amazing, but not exactly appealing to the Bond fanatics. And then there’s The Road, practically guaranteed to be the most depressing movie of 2008.
